About the Forum

 

The National Urban Forum Kyrgyzstan 2024 took place in Bishkek on October 17-18, 2024, and became one of the largest regional platforms for exchanging knowledge, experience, and strategies for sustainable urban development in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia as a whole. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and international partners.

The event brought together a wide range of participants: government officials, urban planners, researchers, urban development experts, private sector representatives, civil society, and international organizations. Particular attention was paid to issues of urban infrastructure planning, mobility, citizen engagement in decision-making processes, multi-level urban governance, and urban adaptation to climate and social challenges.
