Brazilian media highlights upcoming WUF13 Forum in Azerbaijan
The “Correio Braziliense” newspaper, one of Brazil’s leading media outlets, has published an article highlighting the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan this year.
The article, authored by Rafig Rustamov, Counselor of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Brazil, highlighted that under the Order of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, dated December 22, 2025, the year 2026 was declared the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in Azerbaijan. It also drew the readers’ attention to the country’s large-scale preparations for the upcoming WUF13 Forum.
The report emphasized that following the successful hosting of the COP29 Conference, Azerbaijan is gearing up to welcome another prestigious global event, once again positioning itself as a central stage for addressing the issues of global importance.
The article also mentioned that Azerbaijan’s rich and exemplary development in urban planning, the country’s large-scale restoration efforts in its liberated territories, including the ongoing green energy and modern infrastructure projects, are closely followed by the international community.
According to the report, the Azerbaijani government is taking consistent steps to expand the international participation in the WUF13.
It also highlighted the ancient and modern pearls of the Azerbaijani architecture, namely the Shirvanshah’s Palace, the Flame Towers, the Heydar Aliyev Center, and the Baku White City.
