Azerbaijan eyes cooperation with African countries within AUF2 platform on margins of WUF13

 

Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya, participated at a briefing organized by the Kenyan government for the diplomatic corps accredited to the country focusing on the preparations for the 2nd Africa Urban Forum (AUF2) scheduled to be held in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, on April 8-10.

Addressing the event, Sultan Hajiyev expressed Azerbaijan’s keenness to collaborate with the African countries within the AUF2 platform, and share its global contributions in climate-resilient urban development and affordable housing, its extensive experience in post-conflict recovery and reconstruction, as well as humanitarian demining.

The ambassador briefed the participants on the preparations for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), stressing that participation of the African countries in the Summit would be crucial for the African continent. According to him, Azerbaijan, which has successfully hosted the COP29 Conference, and other prestigious international events, has taken significant measures to host the WUF13 at a high level.

Other speakers included Alice Wahome, Kenya's Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development.
