Baku State University hosts Model WUF13 simulation conference

 

The Baku State University (BSU) hosted the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) simulation conference on the role of youth in building inclusive, safe, and sustainable cities, as part of the “Foundation of strong state - Azerbaijani youth” Forum marking February 2 - the Day of Azerbaijani Youth.

The inaugural simulation conference was organized by BSU, Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Eurasian Regional Center of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF-ERC).

Addressing the event, Shahin Panahov, Vice-rector for International Relations at BSU, noted that the modern urban planning policy should be shaped based on unity of science, technology and the human factor, emphasizing that the active involvement of young people in this process is crucial for sustainable development.

Other speakers included Mirhuseyn Taghiyev, representative of the BSU’s Protocol sector; Abdinassir Sagar, WUF13 Coordinator from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT), and Ramin Habibzada, ICYF-ERC Deputy Director-General.

Subsequently, the simulation conference participants expressed the views of the countries they represented.

In conclusion, the successful participants were awarded certificates.
