Volunteer registration for World Urban Forum’s 13th session kicks off

On December 5, the official opening ceremony of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) Volunteer Center was held as part of the International Volunteer Day.

The center is designed to facilitate all necessary efforts for the successful delivery of the 13th session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be hosted in Baku in 2026.

The center aims to implement professional training, coordination and management of the Forum's volunteer staff on a single platform.

The ceremony was attended by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, WUF13 National Coordinator, Adil Mammadov, Executive Director of Azerbaijan’s WUF13 Operating Company, UN Coordinator for WUF13 Abdinnasir Sagar, and Anna Soave, Head of UN-Habitat's Country Office in Azerbaijan.

The WUF13 Volunteer Program will serve as an inclusive, interactive platform designed to foster youth initiative, innovative thinking, and leadership qualities, providing valuable opportunities to gain international experience.

Registration for the WUF13 Volunteer Program has officially opened as part of the preparations. Individuals aged 18 and over who are interested in participating in the Forum can register via the online platform at the following link: https://volunteers.wuf13.az/az.

Individuals who register and meet the criteria - being at least 18 years of age by May 1, 2026 with fluent English communication skills - will be invited to the interview stage. Successful candidates will be then invited to the training program. The trainings, scheduled to be held from January to April 2026, will cover three key areas: general information, role distribution, and venues.

During the forum, WUF13 volunteers will welcome participants of the global event, as well as provide registration and information support, assist with organizational work at various sessions and exhibitions, as well as involve in the implementation of cultural programs.
