Nizar Amedi, President of Iraq, has been invited to participate in the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), to be held in Baku this year.

Eldar Salimov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iraq, delivered the official letter of invitation from President Ilham Aliyev to the Iraqi head of state.

During the meeting, the discussions focused on Azerbaijan–Iraq relations and ways to foster these ties, as well as the latest global and regional developments. The Azerbaijani diplomat also presented the congratulatory letter from the Azerbaijani head of state to Nizar Amedi on his appointment as the President of Iraq.

President Nizar Amedi thanked him for the congratulations and also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support provided to Iraq during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as within international organizations, stressing the importance of advancing bilateral cooperation and partnership.
