About the Forum
The fourth Lao National Urban Forum (LNUF 2025) was held in two cities across the country: the capital, Vientiane, on October 6, and Pakse, on October 17, 2025. The forum was organized by the Department of Housing and Spatial Planning under the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, jointly with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and with the support of the United Nations Volunteers program.

The event focused on sustainable urban development in the context of urban crises, with an emphasis on strengthening resilience, inclusiveness, and social interaction in urban communities. The forum provided a platform for the exchange of experiences between government agencies, international partners, experts, representatives of the academic community, the private sector, and civil society. Discussions included topics such as adaptation to climate risks, urban governance, transportation development, housing affordability, and other aspects crucial to ensuring the sustainability and well-being of cities.
