WUF13 Azerbaijan

Lithuanian Ambassador: The upcoming WUF13 in Azerbaijan opens up additional possibilities for the country

“The recent changes in the region, including real progress made by Azerbaijan and Armenia on the path to peace, as well as the growing openness in terms of connectivity and investments, present opportunities that are also of interest to Azerbaijan’s partners, including Lithuania,” Kęstutis Vaškelevičius, Ambassador of Lithuania to Azerbaijan, told AZERTAC.

According to him, Lithuania and Azerbaijan are long-term partners, and the two countries enjoy successful cooperation in transport and logistics, as well as in other areas of the economy.

“The upcoming WUF13 event in Azerbaijan also opens up additional possibilities for the country, strengthening its role as an important hub between Europe and Asia — not only for connectivity projects, but also for various business initiatives,” the diplomat said.

Describing the energy sector as a particularly important area, Vaškelevičius noted that there is great potential for cooperation in this field.

“Lithuania is willing to share its experience in grid connectivity and renewable energy. This is an area where Lithuania has substantial expertise, while Azerbaijan also has experience and very strong potential. I also see opportunities for expanding business-to-business contacts,” he added.
