Nairobi hosts media briefing on WUF13 preparations
On November 25, a briefing on the preparations for the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) scheduled to take place in Baku, was held in Nairobi, Kenya, with media and diplomatic corps representatives in attendance.
Moderated by Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya and Congo and Permanent Representative to the UN Office at Nairobi, the briefing featured remarks by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, WUF13 National Coordinator; and Anacláudia Rossbach, UN-Habitat Executive Director. The speakers called for active participation during the Forum and support for mobilizing the national and institutional partners.
The organizers underscored that WUF13 will serve as a critical global checkpoint for the implementation of the New Urban Agenda at its mid-term point.
