Ambassador Lu Mei: China is ready to actively participate in international events to be hosted in Azerbaijan
China-Azerbaijan relations will develop on a rich agenda covering various aspects of diplomatic, parliamentary, political party, economic-trade, and humanitarian cooperation in the near future, Lu Mei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Azerbaijan, said at the briefing held on March 13.
The ambassador noted that China regards the strengthening of cooperation with Azerbaijan as an important area of foreign policy, and intends to actively participate in the international events scheduled to take place in the country this year.
“In 2026, Azerbaijan will host a number of major international forums, including the annual session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), the 13th session of the World Urban Forum, and the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA). China intends to actively participate in these events,” the Chinese ambassador mentioned.
“Beijing hopes to work together with Baku to continue strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries and to consistently implement the agreements reached at the level of heads of state. This will contribute to the further development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and to the expansion of cooperation across various fields,” Lu Mei added.
