About the Forum

The first National Urban Forum of Kazakhstan 2025 was held on July 8, 2025, in Kyzylorda. The forum was organized with the support of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), along with local government agencies and international partners. The event brought together government representatives, experts, academia, international partners, the private sector, and civil society to discuss sustainable urban development strategies, regional urbanization, and the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Particular attention was paid to inclusive planning, climate resilience, digitalization of urban processes, and strengthening the capacity of local governments. The forum provided a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices, and developing recommendations for the sustainable and inclusive development of Kazakhstan's cities.
